Is Frozen A New Wrinkle?

MSNBC gives us a Reality check on the war on wrinkles: Looking younger or just weirder? Pursuit of youth isn’t always pretty!

Quote:
Wrinkles have become optional. So have age spots, forehead furrows and baggy eyelids.

Name a badge of aging and there’s a fix being peddled by your local dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Crow’s feet? Freeze them with Botox. Laugh lines? Inject them with Restylane. Saggy neck? Tighten and tuck with a scalpel.

But is all this really making us look younger? Or just weirder?

May Is "Not" National Mommy Make-Over Month… But It Should Be!

I mean, May is already the month of Mothers Day, so why not National Mommy Make-over Month? And what better way for Fathers, Lovers, or Friends to celebrate the Mother in their life by treating them to a Mommy Make-over!

Speaking of Mommy Make-overs, there’s been a lot of talk about Dr. Michael A. Salzhauer's new book, My Beautiful Mommy and most seem to regard the book as perpetuating a completely unrealistic ideal of female beauty like this Washington Post article which says:

Quote:
"I don't know whether to laugh or cry," said Diana Zuckerman, president of the nonprofit National Research Center for Women and Families, after reading "My Beautiful Mommy."

“This is disturbing on so many levels," she added. "For one thing, it perpetuates a completely unrealistic ideal" of female beauty: the large-breasted, wasp-waisted, midriff-baring Barbie-doll look”

And the ladies on The View seemed to put a negative spin on the book as well… see the video below:

Restylane patients prefer Juvéderm for Nasolabial folds

An interesting article from Plasmetic

Quote:
In a recent study conducted on patients who had undergone previous nasolabial fold (NLF) treatments with Restylane (hyaluronic acid/HA, Medicis), it was seen that there was a strong preference for Juvéderm Ultra (HA, Allergan) among the patients. This study was conducted by Jessica Wu, M.D., clinical instructor of dermatology at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
