The website-a joint initiative of American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS)-is helping consumers understand and make educated choices among the full range of cosmetic medicine procedures.

"As patients' options increase, so too does their confusion about which ones can best meet their needs," said Dr. Richard D'Amico, ASPS president and co-chair of the task force. "One patient might inquire about a tummy tuck when liposuction would do, while another might think injectable fillers will provide the results that only a facelift can achieve."
