May Is "Not" National Mommy Make-Over Month… But It Should Be!
I mean, May is already the month of Mothers Day, so why not National Mommy Make-over Month? And what better way for Fathers, Lovers, or Friends to celebrate the Mother in their life by treating them to a Mommy Make-over!
Speaking of Mommy Make-overs, there’s been a lot of talk about Dr. Michael A. Salzhauer's new book, My Beautiful Mommy and most seem to regard the book as perpetuating a completely unrealistic ideal of female beauty like this Washington Post article which says:
"I don't know whether to laugh or cry," said Diana Zuckerman, president of the nonprofit National Research Center for Women and Families, after reading "My Beautiful Mommy."“This is disturbing on so many levels," she added. "For one thing, it perpetuates a completely unrealistic ideal" of female beauty: the large-breasted, wasp-waisted, midriff-baring Barbie-doll look”
And the ladies on The View seemed to put a negative spin on the book as well… see the video below:
